All i can say about StrongVPN is amazing..I’ve had nothing but great customer service and my answers were always answered. As far as the configurations go pretty simple enough and they do have a video on how-to set things up. As far as speeds are concerned you would have to use the server closest to you to get the best speed possible, this is going to be the 2nd year with them as my vpn provider and services are going great for me. + you get a 2nd acct for $2. and its a full featured PPTP only acct.
Seriously? Figuring out that you can use a US-based VPN, and a fake address to use US-only sevrecis is hardly groundbreaking. Some of us have been doing this for ages to use Pandora and Hulu, for example, or BBC’s iPlayer with a UK-based VPN.The problem here, though, is that, apart from the usual terms-of-service breaches, you’re using your South African credit card along with a fake billing address / zip-code. You do know this constitutes fraud, right?Pretty stupid, if you ask me.
I decide to give a try to strongvpn , even if the price is high, i thought i will get a good service and that is what i need.. I applied to lite package 60 USD/6 months, i sent to them 80 USD as i did trought wire transfer i and i was afraid also their bank take also some comission, but ok no .. they received the 80 USD..
First week speed very good.. then after start to slow down.. really so slow that i cant even surf.. even using a free vpn was 10time faster.. they told me try other servers.. i tried one.. ok.. fast speed so after 1 week of full speed and 1 and a half month of almost no service, ( iwas traveling so no even chance to take time to deal with this , i thought was mmy computer or my connection), y changed to other server .. they told me that service its more expensive..
ok.. i already have 20 usd as credit so.. upgrade..
after 20 days they billed me 15 more USD.. and in 1 month service expire!
so.. 2 months almost no connection, 1 month of ok speed.. and then they want 95 USD for that months!. i told them ok.. wait.. i iwll go back to the old service .. i prefer even not have speed or conenction that pay 15 usd more so.. downgrade please.. ans i still will have 3 more months..
They just cancell my acounnt and took al my money!!!.. means 3 months.. only could use 1 month.. at 80 USD!.. This is what you get for dealing a bunch of russians!, i regret not listening the advices.. now i have another vpn .. 50 USD year.. and speed is even 1- times faster than the strongvpn premium one!..
I use strongvpn for some time now. What I like about them is the super fast non-stop customer service they provide. The biggest drawback is the limited server switches. From time to time it disconnects, but all providers have this problem. Overall it`s a good deal at a fair price.
Read their policies very carefully before you buy this! They log everything you do, and will close your account at strike one if they receive e DMCA complaint for some mp3 or movie. This is exactly what happened to me. They did not even have the courtesy to refund me!
Very bad if you`re looking for online anonymity. All US VPN providers fall under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) law, so they`re obliged to share your information when requested. If you need anonimity and privacy, go off-shore! I use [removed by editor] now, they have a tight privacy policy.
I am using StrongVPN for a few months now and I am less than satisfied with their service. I bought the Lite VPN package with the San Francisco servers so I can watch some US TV online (I live in Singapore). The speeds I`m getting are very low, and make watching any video online almost impossible. I have a 4 Mbps line in my house, but I`m barely getting 1 Mbps with StrongVPN. Not exactly premium…
I only use the Strong Hong Kong server, as I get the best speed with it on my crappy Internet connection

I think I`ll cancel them and look for something cheaper. Can anybody here recommend a good (and cheap) HK provider?
I cancelled my old subscription with [removed by editor] and subscribed to StrongVPN. Their support is much more helpful. I wanted to setup the VPN on my WRT54GL router.
They have a guide on their forum for this, but this is not as simple as you would think… However, Jeremy from live support helped me through it, and after a lot of struggle with the router firmware and settings I managed to get it working. I highly recommend their service. Support was the main reason I switched from [removed by editor] because they didn’t help me AT ALL with the router issue.
With Strong VPN I finally managed to get the ABC Player software to work on my iPad. I had to subscribed to a $21 / 3 months VPN plan, pretty cheap I would say, and it`s working good here in the Philippines.
I was looking for a VPN service with servers in California, preferably near Los Angeles or San Fransisco. After a couple of days I found StrongVPN. Support was very helpful in setting up the connection, I don`t understand why so many people complain about bad support from StrongVPN. Maybe they are paid by other providers to do so..
StrongVPN has very slow customer service. Even though they have many many servers, In many countries speed is so low it’s practically unusable. I complained to support and they promised to change me to another service. 1 week has passes and no sign from them! They are not as good as they claim to be… a lot of advertising for nothing. I had free services that worked better than this!
I have used the cheapest package from strongvpn, it was all good. I can recommend them. Live support is always there if you need it.
I use strongVPN as well. Make sure to get the plan that allows you to switch between servers… While in Europe, I usually use east coast servers… connection is good enough to watch all online shows (hulu, abc, nbc…. ) with no lag.
I use only strong vpn for netflix, pandora, hulu, abc and so on… No problem so far.
Strongvpn logs everything as they closed my account for using p2p and did not want to refund me. I signed up as they spammed themselves on many websites saying they are the best but that is bullshit ! I think they are simply paying off review websites to give them favorable reviews and advertising. I really hope you will post my comment, unlike other sites.

I am now looking for another provider that does not treat their good and old customers like this.
I used strongvpn a couple of years ago. They are good but at the time you had to make a choice about protocol and server location and stick to it. If you wanted to have access to a server in US and a server in Europe you paid twice. If you wanted PPTP, IPsec, L2TP and OpenVPN you paid 4 times. Each product was totally separate. I am not sure if this is still the case but its worth checking.
I like to have different server locations. Servers on the West coast of the US are the fastest for all connections because they are closer to China. However I need a server in the UK so I can watch the BBC iPlayer because its restricted by the BBC (not by the great firewall of China).
Even if you don’t care about different server locations I think its still important to be able to switch easily between multiple protocols. Some mobile networks in China do not support PPTP. Many devices (such as the iphone) do not natively support OpenVPN. Some wireless routers have been set up to block PPTP, IPSec and L2TP forcing you to use OpenVPN. There are too many variables so its best to have it all available.
Signed up for their service yesterday, after having compared various providers on this site. Strong VPN’s many different packages totally confused me and left me with a bad impression. However their live support won me over. Pretty good overall.
Compared with other providers, I’d go for StrongVPN simply because of their sheer amount of IP addresses and support. I have been a StrongVPN customer for more than a year and their service is simply astounding. They even provide 24/7 live chat service.
