Great service for less than a week, when they suddenly had the guts to cutoff my service and ask me by email for a photocopy of my credit card citing ‘fraud’ concerns and some need for ‘verification.’ This is AFTER taking my payment.
I got in touch with their support team and politely offered to address their fraud concerns in any other way – as I’d never send something like what they requested to a bunch of potentially dodgy strangers I’d just met on the internet; but they’ve refused. I’ve had no choice but to ask them for a refund.
To boot, while accusing me of fraud, I was in online chat with a dude from their support team claiming to be called “John Brown” or something like that, who couldn’t speak proper English. So I can only assume was using a false name while accusing ME of fraud and…uhm… nonchalantly asking for a copy of my credit card.
Shall happily use them – because the actual VPN was great – if they allow me to just resume the service I’ve paid them for, but otherwise: dodgy as Hell, DO NOT USE!!!!!!!
Absolutely atrocious customer service. For a week I contacted them everyday because I had problems accessing netflix and nbc olympics website. At first got emails every 24 hours asking questions and providing support, then after 4 replys it went 100% silent. I kept trying to contact them and no replies. Went to their website and used their online chat, and kept getting promised they would contact me and for a week, nothing. Not worth the aggravation. Seems when they can’t fix it, they just ignore you and keep your money… Stay away…
I have been using Overplay for about 2 months from Norway to UK server via my 4Mb/s DSL connection, at first the speed was OK with only a little buffering but now its slowed to a measily 500Kb/s making TV streaming impossible. I only use it for watching UK ITV, BBC and Sky. I will be cancelling my account today.
They don`t have servers in 48 countries as they claim on their website! In reality the IP addresses they have all point to US/UK servers, even though if you look them up they appear as Brazil, Belarus, Egypt etc. This is false advertising people !!!
Established VPN service with high speed servers all over the world. The Overplay software is easy to download and install, and no configuration of any kind is needed to connect. It`s a bargain at only 9.95$ per month!
I vote for overplay too. I have their paid 10$ VPN, can’t really get full 1080p with iinet, but 720 seems to run ok most of the time.
Not very useful for watching BBC online from Australia. Getting bad speeds on UK servers, and videos keep buffering a lot. US connections work better though.
This is my fourth provider yet, and I am still not satisfied with the result, so I guess I`ll keep shopping…
I use overplay.net as well. i find it fantastic. i use it for hulu and netflix in the states, and the BBC in the UK. also useful for US amazon Kindle store and iTunes.
I also travel a lot overseas and find it very useful for logging into ABC News24 in Australia. I highly recommend.
I also use OverplayVPN… cost 7 pounds a month and it works great. I highly recommend them.
Good provider with lots of servers to choose from. Quick setup also. Some servers work better than others.
Overplay net is a good one. Particularly helpful for changing your country location to check out affiliate offers.
I am getting better speeds with overplay than I was getting with [removed by editor], however they are not as fast as they claim, like for watching HD videos with no lag. My 10 Mbps connection drops to about 2-3 Mbps on most UK servers, and below 1 Mbsp for most US servers (don`t really care about that, I only need the VPN for BBC).
I’ve been looking for a Danish VPN provider for weeks, and finally found Overplay.I only use it to watch Danish TV. Install was pretty fast on my Mac. Then just connect to the danish overplay server and you can watch all of DR.dk’s channels online.
